A Lady's Memories of Monday Night Football Games...

Like softest fleece

Beneathe the warmth

Of a man’s oversized

Sweatshirt

Beloved

Snuggled in

A cocoon of musky

Aftershave and smokey

Wood

Protected, cared,

Beloved

Nurtured through cold nights

And loud stadium highlights

Drunk men and cold beer

The smell of peanuts

Warm hotdogs

And

Someone’s lost

Vomit

On the stairs below

Monday Night Football

In the Stands…

I don't know what this is or from where it came. Lately, I read one of Jacob's poems, and this string of endless words just bubbles up. Thank you for reading and leaving your great reviews. :)

The first two stanza's sound so romantic and lovely and it is then in stanza three when you tell us you're in the stadium that we get a sense of the feel and atmosphere. Having your boyfriend or husband's jumper is über cute, I love it, it's so cute to see.

I love this, never been to a football stadium before, apart from the vomit, sounds quite good, haha! This is great Anne, I loved the imagery (except the vomit, lol) and the wording was so eloquent.

Marvellous!
Hugs.

Great write. There's something special about sitting in the cold snuggled next to the one you love cheering grown men to chase after a ball.

It's great that couples do things together, even though they are not enamored with their mates choice of activity. It is the giving, the closeness, the memory for the years later when the mobility is no longer an ability for either of them.

I am glad my lady likes football, it is something we can share at home or at the stadium.

On a side note, a woman in nothing but a football jersey is so sexy
