I work in a Catholic bookstore, and I am surrounded by the most incredible books on faith, the rosary, and darkness and light. I also am a huge proponent of The Rosary. It is truly a powerful tool to defeat the evils in our world. Give it a try...

spot on Bright one! it is just as you say .. a fine meditation that lifts up the Father, Son, Holy Ghost and Virgin Mary ... tho i have not said the rosary for many years .. the Hail Mary remains close to my heart ... i turn to her when my sinful nature weighs the heaviest upon me .. i think please give my prayers to your Son .. for me!
and padre Pio!!! i remain amazed that his life is so little known ... one of the most obviously close children of God in modern times .. spit out by his own clergy ... thank goodness the Church came to its senses .. and the Children of Fatima .. always a childhood favorite history of mine .. so brave .. still puts me to shame .. timely write .. bold expression of faith and political thought and how they entwine .. appreciate you sharing this

I give the glory to God, because I really didn't plan this one. It just seemed to need to be written. I'm happy you know who Padre Pio is. He was a great Italian priest, who suffered greatly. I'm reading about his life right now. Thank you for your great comments, E. I appreciate you stopping in to read this one.

He was a very humble man, who was devoted to serve God and his Holy Mother. The church misunderstood him and who he was about, because the Italian people would crowd his masses like rock concerts and line up for miles for confession just to be able to speak to him. He didn't go seeking this kind of adulation, he was just being his humble self. So, his superiors took his masses away, and forbade him to have any spiritual counselling fom his friend and confidante. But, at the same time, he asked God to show him how God suffered. He wanted to experience it. So, persecution and lonliness were part of that experience. An amazing man.

An interesting and informative piece about the mysterious power of the rosary beads...love the poetic lines and she weeps..tears fall silent streaks..just beautiful ..the world is indeed in need of divine intervention..thing aren't going well'...so true..
Fine poem and prayer is a powerful tool. It's our link to the Savior. For through His name only can we speak to the Father. Two hands and one heart is all I ever use to pray, although recently I did do some historical research on the Rosary. I found its history fascinating to say the least.

Thank you, Michael. It is so nice to see you here again. God bless you!
I usually avoid any poetry related to anything religious, but for some reason this one caught my eye. I'm glad I read it, because it was very educational. I had never known the history of rosary beads. You turned a historical story into something beautiful and poetic, and for that I applaud you. Great, great work.

Faith in prayer and supplication are truly needed as we work for peace.

I like this a lot. I like the way you start with and, i do that myself sometimes, I think it gives the stanza that extra bit of power. the rhythm in the opening stanza coupled with the subtle rhyme and of course the image of the Lady makes for a remarkable opener
there's a lot of knowledge weaved in and a huge respect. I can dig that.
I think you've done very well by not falling into the high horse trap ,because you maintain a neutral enough voice throughout
good stuff

It doesn't do any good, and it drives people away. Beside, I'd like to think that isn't me. I just felt this one on a very deep level, and I've been getting different inspirations from different people and situations until it all came together. I'm very happy you like it. The burning of the Jordanian Pilot really affected me. I think it was the inspiration to get this finally written. We live in some terrible times right now. Be well, my friend.

Well expressed. Though I am not sure how non catholics relate, it is a passionate poem.
