This was a poem my son sent me from Advanced Training in the Marine Corp... It was my birthday present.

Love…from my Son…

 

 

Love is easy

Love is hard

Life holds you by the hand

Life can set you to fail

Seek Existence

Seek Serenity

Find your Soul

Your Passion, Your Strength

Release Obligation to many

Claim Religion to One

Love is easy

Love is hard

Keep love close at hand

Love will keep you from failing

Love your Existence

Love your Serenity

Love your Soul

For it’s passion and strength

Love your religion to God

Love is God

God is Love

Author's Note

This is his first poem in several years, and I just got it in the mail. So, obviously...I had to publish it and let you all read it. He's such a sweetheart. Thank you all for your kindness and support this summer when he was away. He is still away, but his life is infinitely easier when someone isn't spitting down your neck and screaming your head off 24/7. Be blessed, my friends...

If you knew him well, you would recognize this was a synopsis of his life. He is very close to me, and he acknowledges that my love for him saved him from failure. He chose to seek his passion and his strength in what he wanted and he abandoned everyone else's expectations for him, but his own path. He became very single minded in his pursuit of his future, and while worried about him, I'm very proud that he made it where he wanted to be. He would be very happy to see this review.
