Moonlight PonderingsA Poem by Bright Ocean StarT.S. Elliot inspired this one....Moonlight Ponderings…… ________________________________________________ Ponder, we do, the midnight sky Each of us, alone, separate and nigh You in Ecuador and me here Separated in longing quite severe Pondering the stars and the moon lit
night Sharing the glow yet out of sight I cannot see your face or feel your
touch Yet a connection exists ever so rough May you gaze upon the lunar orb above And think of me as I gaze in love Waiting until the time we can share The touch and kiss sans distance fair Mind’s restless wanderings a far Of hikes past in Audobon’s park And shared explorations Through Nottaway’s Plantation Of cross country expeditions You in your truck and me in my car I’d follow you anywhere Down highways domain Roadside hotels and eating lomain Ever, just out of touch of me My mind and my life to be A wanderer, explorer of life’s
questions…. You cannot be satisfied Living
statesside with land and a horse Some puppies, a pack, and children of
course…. My heart is yours to be carried at will Yet you belong somewhere I cannot follow For studies could not be treated so
shallow Our time is not now, nor will it ever be Our time together must be just a memory White, gray, dusky clouds pass across
our midnight light Our spectral connection is lost in the
dust Of nature’s time and distance’s cusp. What was is then best tucked away In the precious memories of the day Yet often times I read of you I hear your name and ponder anew I look up and what do I see? The moon at full swoon, looking down on
just me. Bright Ocean Star, May 2014 © 2014 Bright Ocean StarAuthor's Note
