Souls walk

Speaking silently

Together

Entwined spirits

choosing

one another

Healing sins

Of the past

Forgiving days

Long transpired

One soul,

Closed and wounded

Clings to her

Seeking solace

Of her faith

Her soul

Soothes the

Wounded heart

Of a warrior

Finally home

Two souls

Become one

Two lost pieces

Affix together

Cracked, yet

unbroken

Inspire magic

In each other

Trust builds

Over time

Distance

Desire reigns

With grenades

Of fire and heat

Cooling

Over time

Quenching with

This is simply beautiful, Anne, so touching ...walking together in life as one, an idea that seems so distant at times in todays society, but there is proof it exists... Lovely work as always...this in going into my favorites.

Thank you, Kalypso. I'm so happy you like it...:) The song completely inspired this one. The Righteous Brothers were big during World War II when soldiers often had to go off to war and leave their sweethearts behind in the states. If you were lucky enough to make it back, many of these guys had PSTD, but it wasn't diagnosed back then, and they strongly depended on their wives and girlfriends to heal their spirits and souls after they came home....because back then, no one went to shrinks and psychologists like they do today. It was a different time back then when almost no one got divorced. It might have happened, but it was almost unheard of. A unique and intriguing time to live. My parents were from that time period, and Top Gun kind of made the Righteous Brother's famous again for my generation that grew up long after world war ii. I am very happy you liked it. Thanks so much for taking the time to read it. :)

Ah yes... the Righteous Brothers...my parents played that over and over again when I was growing up...but yes Top Gun did bring them back around didn't it! hahah I love how you can be so inspired by a song...to dive into a time and era, depicting it so well.
