A painful journey

I was sitting on my couch with Cinnamon at my feet, waiting anxiously for my visitor. The minute I heard a knock on the door I ran to it. When I opened the door I saw Brian standing there.
“What did you need?”
“Come inside,” Brain followed me through the door and over to the couch. Cinnamon leapt onto Brian’s lap and he pet her lovingly. “I need your help.” I said, folding my arms.
“With what.”
“I need you to help me go to Hell.” Brian chocked when I said that.
“Why would you want to go there, you’re suffering forever.”
“I need to be with Faye, I can’t stand being separated from her forever!”
“No, I won’t let someone like you get sent to a place like that.”

“Please! I don’t want to be away from her!” I threw myself on top of him, squishing him underneath me.
“Get off of me!”
“Only if you help me!” I forced more weight onto him
“Fine! I’ll help you!” I fell back onto the side of the couch I was on originally. “Thank you, now how would I get sent to Hell?”
“Well, I’m pretty sure you have to commit crimes and kill people.”
“Seems easy enough.”
“I’ll give you help, meet me by the ballpark tomorrow at noon, make yourself unnoticeable, and bring any weapon of your choice.”

I met Brian behind the ballpark downtown and he was giving me instructions on what to do.
“Just aim, shoot, and run.” I nodded in agreement as he told me where to stand. I stood in the shadow of the building and held the gun in my hand at the proper angle. I spotted a woman coming out of a store and aimed it at her. I pulled the trigger and watched her collapse.
“Run!” Brian whispered. I dashed behind the building and met up with Brian.
“How come no one’s running?”
“It’s Detroit, someone gets shot every day. You did well on that last one for it being your first time, do it again!” I groaned as I headed for a different location and watched as everyone started to scramble in panic.

Brian and I traveled all over the world that day, killing millions of innocent souls, robbing many places, and setting many things on fire. The funny thing was, it felt good to cause all that evil. Now I see why there are more Villains than Heroes. I didn’t tell Brian what I planned on doing next.

I was home alone in my kitchen, staring at the gun that had caused so many deaths today, and the gun that was about to cause one more. I walked over to my counter and picked up the wristband that was sitting there. I stared at the small diamond shaped crest that was placed on it. I picked up a small lighter from a drawer and walked out into my backyard. I set the wristband on a leaf and lit the lighter on the crest. I watched the band burn; the chemicals inside it turned the flames different colors.

I walked back into the kitchen once I knew my hero crest was gone. I made my way back over to the small glass table. I took a deep breath and my hand shook as I reached for the gun resting on the counter. I balanced it in my hand and slowly raised it up to my chest. “I’ll see you soon Faye,” I took one last breath and slowly moved my finger back on the trigger. Pain stabbed through my chest and I collapsed on the floor.
