Matt The RevolutionA Chapter by DanielleMatt tries to do everything to save Faye, but nothing is working.
Matt
The revolution
I heard a loud scream and turned to see who it was. My eyes went wide when I saw who it was, Faye, with Ryan crouched over her. I gave Infidelity one last punch in the face and then ran to see her.
“I’m pretty happy right now, Matt,” Ryan said when I got over to him.
“Do you know what you just did?”
“I killed our long time mortal enemy,” I knelt down on the ground so I could look at Faye. I placed my hand where there’s now a large hole and fought back tears.
“Dude what’s wrong? You should be happy!”
“You killed Faye,”
“Faye’s at your house Matt, probably making final arrangements for your wedding.”
“No, this is her.”
“Prove it,” I took a deep breath and carefully peeled off Faye’s black mask. Ryan gave a little laugh and knelt down next to me.
“That isn’t Faye,”
“Yes it is. She was The Fantasy,”
“The Fantasy’s a shape shifter, how do you know she wasn’t just pretending to be Faye?”
“Katie’s a shape shifter too; you don’t say anything about her being fake!”
“Prove that this is Faye.” I reached for Faye’s left hand and slid off the black glove that covered only half of her hands. When her glove was off I held up her hand so Ryan could see what I wanted to show him, Faye’s engagement ring.
“That doesn’t prove that that’s Faye,”
“You are an idiot,” I quickly reached for my phone in my pants. If I knew Faye the way I do, she would always have her phone with her and on. I dialed her number and waited for it to start ringing. When I heard the familiar pop song play I reached for a pocket in her pants and held her phone out so Ryan could see.
“See, same phone, same everything! Do you believe me now?” Ryan had a straight face and nothing moved. I took a quick glance at the fight around Ryan and me and saw Katie trying to protect an extremely injured Gemini. I let out a loud groan and rolled Faye over so her back showed to us.
“Do you remember two years ago, you and I were fighting her and her back got really cut up?”
“Yeah,”
“And then the next day Faye had all of those scratches on her back?”
“Yeah,” I slid up Faye’s shirt and removed the Villain flag that was tied around her stomach. Along her back were thousands of tiny scars all in the shape of scratches.
“What does that prove, Matt?”
“Faye and The Fantasy both had the same scratches, and they are in the same place, they have the same voice, same looks, same shape, same everything, get it now?” Ryan’s eyes widened a little and carefully studied Faye’s body. Small tears formed in the corners of his eyes.
“Okay, I believe you.” If Ryan’s entire body wasn’t silver and if you could see his really skin, he would probably be as white as a ghost.
“I’m so sorry Matt I didn’t mean to!”
“I understand.” If you were a hero, you couldn’t kill unless it was for your own safety, and if you did for fun, you would have to have your powers removed and resign from the Heroes.
I picked up Faye’s body and held her like a baby. Her blood stained my cadet blue shirt that I wore under my white and gold coat, but I didn’t care, I only wanted Faye to be alive and with me right now.
“Katie!” Ryan yelled. Katie turned her head and ran over towards Ryan. I looked over and saw Infidelity pushing himself up. He took one look at Faye and came running over to us.
“What did you do to her?” he grumbled angrily towards us. He was glaring at Ryan and I and breathing angrily.
“Infidelity, I’m sorry, but,” I stared at him and could instantly tell who he was. “Brian?” He glared at me through his silver mask.
“How do you know who I am?”
“You’re the man who was like Faye’s second father, you raised her when Mallico couldn’t, and you treated her like one of your daughters.”
“How do you know who Faye is?”
“Because,” I ripped my light blue mask off my face “I’m Matt.”
Brian was staring at me still; the only thing that changed about him was his eyes widened.
“Matt?”
“Yes,”
“You killed Faye, your own fiancée?”
“No, that wasn’t me, and Ryan didn’t mean to!” Brian didn’t answer me; he stared at Faye’s cold and lifeless body, blood still flowing from her stitches and heart. Brian placed his hand over the large hole in Faye’s chest. I turned around to see Katie and Ryan talking to each other.
“What do you want Ryan?” she asked.
“You need to help Faye, she’s The Fantasy and I accidently killed her! Please, use your healing powers to bring her back!”
“I’ll try my best.” She bent down and placed Faye’s heart back in the hole. I watched as she carefully bent and twisted many veins and muscles. Faye let out a little breath but didn’t open her eyes.
“Faye!” I cried out. I picked her head up and set it on my lap. She twitched her eyes open and rolled her head towards me.
“Faye,” I said, placing my hand on her cheek. Her breathing was labored and you could tell she was in pain. Faye carefully raised one of her arms up and touched my cheek with her hand.
“I love you.” She whispered. Her entire body went limp and her breathing stopped.
“Matt, I’m sorry, there’s nothing more I can do, I’m not strong enough to save an injury like this.” Katie said, standing up, looking like she was about to cry.
“Please wake up Faye,” Brain whispered “The Villains need a strong leader like you.”
“I need you.” I could hear Ryan throwing a fit behind me. I carefully picked up Faye’s body and started walking away.
I carried Faye’s body back to Hero Nation. Everyone that saw me saw me as a greater hero, but I wasn’t, I thought I was less of one. No security was around so no one saw me enter with my once mortal enemy’s body. I carefully made my way up to the all white meeting room and set Faye down on the table. Tears formed in my eyes as I imagined how life would be without her. I touched her cheek hoping she would wake to my touch, but I knew that was impossible. “I love you Faye,” I bent down and kissed her cold, lifeless lips “I always have, and I always will.”
