Matt Chapter 9A Chapter by DanielleWill Faye and Matt's relationship fall apart because of Katie's selfish act?MattChapter 9
“Where are we going?” Faye complained in the back seat. Ryan, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat, got a big smile on his face and yelled, “We’re going to Hockeytown!”
I laughed as I heard Faye groan in the back.
“Why do I have to go?”
“’Cause we need somebody to drive us home when we get drunk!” I yelled back at her. I laughed as I heard her groan.
“Bars are places full of fat, drunk people who don’t know when to leave,” Faye complained.
“You calling us fat?” I yelled.
“That’s not what I meant!” Faye said, kicking the back of my seat.
“You know Faye, you complain a lot!”
When we entered the bar Ryan started showing off his massive muscles, and girls instantly started staring at him and smiling. I kept my arm around Faye to show that I was taken. Every time Ryan and I went somewhere together girls would always stare at us and want to talk to us, Ryan liked it, but I wasn’t really interested in it anymore.
"Show off." Faye muttered under her breath. I couldn't help but laugh as Ryan turned around and looked at her funny. "You saying you're stronger than me princess?" "Bring it dumb blonde." they slammed their elbows down on a table and locked hands. Faye was giving him her famous evil smile and Ryan just sat there and looked like he could win everything. "$40 on Ryan." I said, putting two bills on the table. "Thanks for the support, Matt," Faye said sarcastically. It was probably the longest arm wrestling contest I've ever seen. Ryan’s arm bent towards the table a few times, but he hasn't given up, yet. I could tell Ryan was getting tired of holding his hand like that, his hand slowly slipped towards the table. When Ryan's arm made contact with the table, it made a loud slam.
"Ha!" Faye shouted, "Who's the strong one now?" Faye mocked. "I let you win." "Sure you did. Matt, where's my $40?" I let out a sigh as I handed her the money. “Dude, you just lost $40!” Ryan said, laughing.
"You just lost to a girl. Faye, will you buy us more beers with that money?"
"My money now, I do what I want with it. I'm thinking on using it to take you shopping with me.” I groaned as Faye sat down. “Ha-ha Matt has to go shopping with a girl!” Ryan mocked, still trying to act like the arm wrestle never happened.
“Ha-ha I’d like to see you go try and pick up a girl right now.” I snapped. Ryan leaned back in his chair and scoped the room. He noticed one of the girl’s that was looking at him earlier. Ryan raised his eyebrows and gave a crooked smile and nodded his head. The girl just scowled and turned away.
Ryan slammed his fist on the table and made Faye spill her water.
“God d****t Matt we need a new bar to go to now!” Ryan pointed at Faye and she smiled as she tried to clean up the spilt water. “Okay who drinks water at a bar?” Ryan asked looking directly at Faye
“People who don’t like drinking.”
Faye and I were on the rooftop spending some time alone, while Ryan was downstairs probably attempting to pick up girls. I was behind Faye and had my arms wrapped around her waist.
“Hey, I got to go to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.” Faye left and headed for the door. There was a loud bang on the metal railing and I turned around to see Magenta standing on the railing.
“What are you doing here Katie?”
“I need to tell you something,” she sat down on one of the chairs and took a deep breath. “I don’t think you and Faye should be together.” What? Why would she say that? “Why, why shouldn’t Faye and I be together?”
“She doesn’t know you the way I do,” Katie stood up and got close to me. I stepped back an inch so I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. “I think you’d be better off with me then Faye, Matt.”
“Katie, we tried, it didn’t work”
“That was when we were younger Matt. You don’t understand, I love you, I think you’re making a mistake being with Faye and not me.”
“I’m happy with Faye, can’t you face the fact that you and I were never meant to be? I love Faye and I want to be with Faye, I’m sorry Katie, but you and I will never be together again.”
“Why can’t we just try again? You told me that you loved me and wanted to be with me forever, what happened to that Matt? All the crap that you say to Faye you said to me! When you said we’d be together forever until the end of the world, what did you really mean by that?” She was staring at me with her big brown eyes. I remembered when I said that, I was probably drunk at the time, and I really didn’t know how well I could say what it meant.
“I don’t know, stay out of my life.”
“You don't even know what half the things that come out of your mouth mean. That’s what I love about you, you belong with me, Matt, not Faye.”
“Katie I’m sorry, but nothing will bring us together again.”
“Maybe this will change your mind,” Katie got close to me and put her hands on my shoulders. She leaned in to kiss me, and I tried to push her off.
Katie kept forcing her lips onto mine. No matter how much I tried I couldn’t get her off. She loosened her grip on me and stared into my eyes and smiled, and I pushed her away. Katie turned her head and looked at the door and held her breath, then smiled evilly. I turned my head to see Faye standing there, with a fire blazing in her green eyes. My eyes went wide as she walked over towards us.
“What do you think you’re doing Katie?”
“Don’t mind me I’m just trying to get back the man who knows he belongs with me!” Katie smirked. Faye balled her hand up into a fist.
“You stay away from Matt, he doesn’t love you anymore, and he never did!
“That’s what you think!”
“That’s what I know!” Katie lunged at Faye with all her might. Katie pinned Faye down as Faye kicked her stomach.
“Get off me you w***e!” Faye yelled from under Katie. Faye threw Katie against a table, making the chairs go everywhere. This wasn’t an ordinary catfight, it was a full battle. If Faye wasn't careful and underestimates Katie like she normally does, Faye could get really hurt. I cringed as Faye screamed when Katie's razor sharp nails sliced through her cheek. I grimaced as Faye slammed her fist into Katie's nose, making it bleed. I finally got annoyed with them and walked over to where they were fighting.
“That is enough!” I picked both of them up, holding each in the air with one hand, watching them scream and kick their legs around.
“Matt, put me down so I can rip her throat out!” Faye yelled, trying to get loose from my grip on the back of her neck. I set Katie down and still held Faye up.
“Sure, you put her down!” she yelled at me. Blood dripped onto my hand from her scratch and her white shirt was covered in blood. Katie had blood under her nose and some spots on her purple shirt, her purple mask also had a few spots, probably from Faye’s cheek.
"Low-life good-for-nothing man stealer." Katie mumbled. Faye yelled and scrambled to get out of my grip. I set Faye down when I knew Katie was gone. I looked at Faye and saw that she had a bloody lip and a scratch on her forehead to match the one on her cheek. Faye threw her arms around me and I comfortingly hugged her back. “I hate her so much,” she whispered to me.
“It’s okay, Faye,”
“She’s going to be the next one I kill,”
“Faye,”
“What?”
“Don’t say that. Hey, how did you get out of the bathroom so fast?”
“I never went. I heard Katie land on the railing and turned around and stood in the doorway.”
“Oh.”
While we were still in our hug, Ryan came up to the roof. He took one look at Faye and gasped.
“What’d you to her Matt?” he yelled, making me laugh.
“Matt didn’t do this, Katie did, and she tried to steal Matt from me.”
“Cat-fight?”
“More than a cat-fight.”
“Dang, she must have really ticked you off!”
“She kissed Matt right in front of me!”
“Okay then.” I looked away from Ryan and out into the city. Far away I saw Katie sitting on a roof. I wrapped my arms even tighter around Faye and pressed my lips against hers. I watched as I saw her shadow stand up in anger and shifted into a bird and flew away.
“Get a room Matt!” I heard Ryan yell.
Faye and I were driving home from the bar around 10 at night. Faye was looking out the window with an upset expression on her face.
“Faye, are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” she didn’t look at me when she talked; she never does when she’s upset about something. “Matt, would you ever go back to Katie?” Faye asked, still not looking at me.
“Probably not after what she did tonight, why?”
“Just wondering.”
When we got back to my house it was almost 10:30. Faye decided it was late and wanted to go to bed. When I walked into my bedroom I saw Faye sitting on the bed reading a book in the camisole and shorts she slept in. I walked over to her and bent down to kiss her. She set her book down and wrapped her arms around me. I put my hands on top of her waist and slid them up her side.
“No, no.” Faye grabbed my hands and pulled them away. I stared at her with a confused look.
“What?”
“We’re not doing this,”
“Doing what, Oh,” I realized what she was saying. “I wasn’t trying too!”
I rolled onto my side of the bed. Faye came up to me and curled into the position that she always sleeps in, on my right side, hand on my chest, and head on my shoulder. I did what I usually do and wrapped my arms tightly around her. I began thinking about what Katie had said today. I knew that I could never love her again, and knew that I will always love Faye, but I just didn’t feel right anymore. Maybe it’s because I planned on marrying Katie, but then changed my mind a few weeks before we ended it, and Katie found out I was planning on marrying her, which left her even more heartbroken. My head hurt from tonight so I decided to do the smart thing and go to bed.
