Matt
Chapter 4
I was in my car waiting for Ryan to come out of the restraunt. We were supposed to go to the Tiger's game today, but the rain canceled it. After waiting well over 20 minutes, he finally came out.
"You are the slowest pee-er ever!" I yelled as he got in the car. I was not a fan of the rain, and I don't know why.
"Sorry, hot chick."
"Size?"
"I'd say around 36C."
"Damn, bigger than Faye."
"Yeah, but Faye's look better, more perky."
"And men like perky."
"Hell yeah we do." I heard my phone ring and took it out of my pants pocket. It was a call from Faye.
"I need your help." she said.
"With what?"
"I want to go kill."
"No!"
"Please!"
"Control yourself, break a ton of carrots if you half to."
"What good will carrots do and besides, you don't have any!"
"Well go buy some!"
"Come on Matt, I havn't done anything evil in over a week! I'm getting really board and people are starting to think I'm dead!" I've been trying to keep Faye from having the urge to randomly go kill people, which was about as hard as trying to make a Nimphomaniack not take someone home with them after a night at the bar.
"No."
"I hate you you woman torturer!"
"Love you too." I hung up and looked at Ryan. He had his all too familiar confused look on his face.
"What was that about?"
"Nothing."
Faye and I went out later that night. I wanted to show her this one place I had found just for us. It had thankfully stopped raining, so we wouldn't be soaked.
"Where are you taking me?" Faye asked. I had her blindfolded so she couldn't see where we were going. "Just keep that blindfold on, careful, there's a bridge coming up." We started walking up the stairs and over the stone bridge. When we reached the end of the bridge I took Faye's blindfold off.
No one knew there was a hidden garden behind the park. It had almost every kind of flower imaginable and butterflies and dragonflies flew around. A beautiful marble fountain stood in the middle of the garden with enough space around it so you could sit on the edge. "Oh my gosh how did you find out about this?" Faye asked, walking around smelling all the flowers as the butterflies danced aroudn her. "YOu are the only one I've ever had back here. My dad bought this part of the park for my mom, and this is where he proposed to her."
"This is beautiful." I took her hand and we sat down on the fountain ledge. I gently squeezed her hand and leaned in to kiss her.
"Why did you bring me back here Matt?"
"I wanted to show it to you, so this can be our garden since I don't have one at my house."
We drove back to my house around eight. When I opened the door, something was wrong. My entire living room was turned upside down. Two windows in the kitchen were broken and the couch had a large rip on the top. Sitting on top of the mess was a note.
You don't protect your privacy very well, It was only too easy to find out who you really were. Faye thought she could keep the secret, but no secret is kept from a Villain. It's just too bad I had to tear apart your house to figure it out. Go upstairs.
-M
Who was M? The room was completley silent until Faye whispered "Mallico."
"How could he figure out where I live?" We ran upstairs into my bedroom. Of course, every thing up there was messed up too. On my bed lay a very important aritcle of clothing: My Maverick coat, stained in someone's blood. Sitting on top was another note
You think this secret could have been kept forever? Now that I think about it, it wasn't that hard for me to plan your death. Sure if I kill you it will leave Faye heartbroken, but what do I care, she makes me the most money. Be prepared to fight Matt, this is only the beginning of your end.
Faye said she would go and confront Mallico about this, but what good would it do? Now he knows I'm Maverick and now he wants to kill me. HE doesn't care about FAye or any of the Villains like he says he does, he only care about the money they make for him. Mallico will probably tell the entire world I'm Maverick, and then I would have to give up my powers. If your identity is found out and the public knows, you must remove your hero crest and never return to the Hero World. If Mallico wants to fight, I'll give him a war.
It took me three days to get my house back to somewhat normal. I still ahd to get new windows, but I fixed my couch and bed. Faye blamed herself for Mallico breaking in, but she and I both knew it wasn't her fault. We were sittong on my couch watching TV, "Hey Faye, how come I've never met your dad?" I asked, completely off topic. "Do you really want to know?" she asked, looking upset.
"Yeah, I've never met him."
"Well, you kinda have, Mallico is my dad."
"Wait, What?" I was confused now.
"Don't make me say it again!"
"I won't, it just, I thought he killed your parents?" That made no sense at all, but I was still confused.
"Well,"
"I don't need a detailed discription of your creation, Faye, just expain how he's your dad."
"He's my dad." Why can't I think straight today?
"What happened to your mom?"
"He killed her because she wouldn't marry him."
"Why wouldn't she marry him?"
"After I was born, he wanted to raise me to be eveil, but she wanted me to stay normal, they got into a big fight over it and he ended up slapping her. Then a few days later he proposed and she rejected."
"Ouch."
"Yeah It happened when I was about three. They were fighting in the living room and they didn't know I was staning in the hallway, listening to them. I didn't know what they were fighting about, but I knew it had something to do with me. When he hit her she fell to the ground. His facial expression went from mad to concerned. He apoligized, saying "Michaela, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to' but she didn't take it, she just grabbed her keys and left.
"Later that night she did return. While she was gone my dad spent every second next to me, afraid my mom wouldn't let him be around me anymore. When she got home she did forgive him, but it must've not been enough to want to marry him three days later. When I was asleep that night I heard a loud scream and ran into my mom and dads room. I could hear my mom choking and gasping for breath. I could barely see him, but my dad was crouched over her, tying something around her neck. I could only hear her say small things like 'Paul, why are you doing this?'
"The only thing my he said was 'Go to Hell, Michaela.' He had tied his belt around her neck, choking her to death. He shattered one of the windows in their bedroom, making it look like someone had broken in and killed her. He also took an old pair of shoes and made footprints all over teh carpet and window sill, then burned the shoes in the fireplace so no one would find them.
"When the police came he pretended like he knew nothing about it, hugging me as I sobbed into him. He tired to make me believe the same lie everyone else believed, but I knew exactly what he did, and I didn't tell him I knew until I was 14."
"Wow." she put her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my other arm around her. Faye shuddered under my arm, probably in retrospect of that night. I never knew her life was like that. I can't imagine life motherless. I loved my mom more than anything in the world, just like I had with my dad. I hope a pattern isn't forming, people I love getting killed (someone could kill my brother, I don't care that much for him) I would never want to lose Faye, she means everything to me, and It would kill me for her to be gone.
