Matt Collison Chapter 2A Chapter by DanielleSecond chapter told from Matt's point of veiwMatt CollisonChapter 2"You're late." a deep voice boomed behind me. My fellow Hero friend Spirit was standing behind me. Spirit was one of the most impatient Heroes ever. "I'm not late, everyone else is just early!" I replied. "You can't always get your way, Matt, just because you're the leader doesn't mean you can show up late to your own meetings." "You know, I didn't hear a single word you just said." I joked as I walked down the hallway to the meeting room. As i aproched the door, I could hear everyone talking inside. I opened the doors to the large white room and everyone stopped talking. "A lot of you have realized that The Fantasy has gotten a lot stronger." Openings, the hardest things ever when giving a speech. "You're just now realizing that?" Gemini said, sending the crowd into laughter. "I could rip her heart out!" Ryan shouted, standing up and slamming his fist on the table, just like Faye had yesterday at lunch. "Well, good luck with that." Even though I was very consent on Ryan's idea, it was near impossible. "Sir," chirped the voice of Katie, who was the only female fighter since her mom died five years ago. "I don't want to put anyone in a worse mood than they probably already are, but the last time I fought The Fantasy, I noticed she said a phrase, something that gave her the ability to levitate people and objects." "Do you remember the phrase?" "Yes, Ascend." "That's just another word for levitate." "Yeah it's kind of stupid." Katie nervously tapped her Band-Aid covered fingernails on the table, most likely thinking about her and The Fantasy's last fight, in which Ascend almost killed Katie, had Ryan not been there. "Well I'm her swarn enemy, why hasn't she used this power on me?" "Maybe she's got a thing for you!" Ryan yelled. The group started laughing. "Can we please concentrat people!" I yelled, calming the crowd down. I wonder how my dad could handle such a wild group as these Heroes, always cracking jokes and messing around. I walked over to the large map of the world hanging on the wall and used the computer underneath to place red dots on certain areas in Michigan. "We need more cover in the southern detroit area and over by Ann Arbor." I explained. After setting up the watch groups I dismissed everyone and walked outside. Hero meetings were always very short. Every state in America has its own Hero Nation and the leader has to visit each place every Saturday. If I really didn't want to go everywhere I could call every Hero in America to the Main Hero Nation on an island in the Atalantic Ocean, but that was only used in emergencies. Villains operated the same way, only their Main Villain Republic was in the Pacific Ocean. The minute I walked outside I saw her, The Fantasy, killing an innocent soul, just what I need right now. I ran towards her and pushed her off the ma. We both then smashed into the side of a building. She kicked me off and pinned me to the ground, putting all of her strength on my stomach. "You're not making this easy for me." she hissed. "Catch me if you can." With all the strength I had I threw her off me. She slid across the ground, tearing up the concrete. We both ran for each other, planning to rip each other's head off. Suddenly she dived down and grabbed my foot, she better not drop me again. I slammed my head on the ground as I was helplessly thrown through a building. "You are a very difficult man," she said, her reddish-brown hair bouncing with her steps and her lips in a blood red smile. "I just do my own thing." I lept at her with all my might. Somehow she knew I was going to do that and stepped aside, grabbing me by the back of the neck. "Too slow." As we continued to fight, the sun started setting, which is not a good thing because The Fantasy blends in with the night sky. The only part of her you can see is the two red flames on her shirt. Somehow, we ended back onto the street. I had her pinned, she could not move no matter how hard she tried. She was screaming trying to escape my grip. I was suddenly pushed off of her by a large body. It was Mallico, leader of the Villains. With both of them there, I would just be asking to get killed, so I had no choice but to leave, hearing Mallico yell "Get up, Fantasy." Sun was shining through the window, a gentle voice woke me up. "I thought I was the one that slept in!" Faye's beautiful voice chirped. "Long NIght." I replied, still tired from last night's fight. I quickly threw on an old shirt and followed Faye downstairs. When I got in the living room I plopped myself down on the couch. "Matt, are you okay?" Faye asked, coming from the kitchen with a glass of water in her hand. "Hangover." "You didn't go anywhere!" "That's what you think." Faye came and sat next to my head and started playing with my hair. "My poor baby." My phone buzzed the minute I was getting comfortable. It was a text message from Ryan. The leader from Japan wants to talk to you. Great. "Who was that?" Faye asked "Uh, Ryan, he has an extra ticket for today's baseball game and it's the last game in the series against Minnesota, can I go?" "I don't care what you do!" "Thanks, I love you!" It was really late when I got home from the "game." The meeting was in Japan so I had to fly all the way over there and back. When I pulled into my driveway, I saw the light in my bedroom was still on. When I walked into my bedroom I saw Faye laying in bed reading a book. "How was the game?" she asked, not taking her nose out of the book. "Good, but they lost, and I got a free peice of pizza." I lied. "I looked around my room for the sweat pants I normally sleep in. "You know, I looked on the TV today and it said the Tigers and Twins series was over and there was no game today." Faye said, sounding upset. "Um yeah, they decided to have a just for fun game and not telivise it." Worst lie ever. "Whatever." I finally found my pants and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I was so tired that I almost passed out in the bathroom, but managed to make it back to the bedroom. Faye put her book on the nightstand and as soon as she laid down I wrapped my arms around her. Her hair was brushing against my neck and was cold from her shower, but it felt good in the warm May night. I don't know what it is about summer, but it always felt more romantic for me; I just feel more connected to Faye. I also feel that way in the winter, when it's cold we can stay closer to each other and I just love her so much that I don't care what she does. I looked down at Faye and my happiness quickly faded. The smile she had on her face was the same evil smile The Fantasy gave me yesterday, come to think of it, they have the same hair color. Now every time I see her, I see The Fantasy. The Fantasy is ruining my life.
