Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Shay Renee
"

This is a special poem written for my roomate..

"

They say if you love someone you got to let go
And if it comes back then that's how you'll know
But these words take time, for one to learn
Because the will is strong, but the heart still yearns
Flashbacks, running across the mind
Beautiful memories, pregnant in time
If only you'd known they'd be aborted by pain
Would you have said you loved him again and again

Move on from the past, let go of it all
Because if he loved you wouldn't he be answering your calls
Or was he hurt deeper than he could ever show
Not easy to move on but he has just let go
Let go, Of the hope of never feeling your embrace
Let go, Of ever caressing your face
Let go, Of ever being your first
Because he can't let go of how you cried when you got hurt
So move on girl and with time you'll heal
Let go girl but with the knowledge that love is real

Alive, in your heart still breathing
Alive, in your soul still breeding
Convincing your mind that it can never know
Whether to hold on or like him let go
Let go, Of the fantasy of him being the one
Let go, Of your home girls calling you dumb
Let go, Of your destructive pride
Let go, Of all the hateful lies
Stop thinking girl that you know what's best
Just let go for now and let fate do the rest
So when you ask how will you know
The answer is for you to just let go!

This is so true and yet one of the hardest things to ever do. It is like forgiving and forgeting, we never really seem to forget the good or bad. With love those old good feelings keep us from moving on, makes it hard for us to see that someone else can love us as much or more.

In time your friend will realize this on her own, and then she will be open to be loved again, hopefully with a better outcome for her.

Excellent Poem~
