WARM INSIDEA Poem by LasergraphA little reminder that there is no place like home. It shelters us from all the problems of the world.
The morning chill greeted me, As I opened up my eyes. And the scene outside my window, Took me by surprise.
It was dark outside, but I could see, A warm and friendly glow, From window panes at neighbor’s homes, Reflected on the snow.
Winter laid it’s blanket down, While I was unaware. I was covered all safe and warm, Asleep without a care.
I built a fire in winters past, Again I did the same. The embers glowed and came to life, As I watched the dancing flame.
The coals were white and still had heat, They simply needed air, And I could bring them back to life, While buried in my chair.
The flames rose up with fiery glows, As they devoured the wood. And the smells of smoky chimneys, Filled up the neighborhood.
While winter rages outside my door, I found a place to hide. I know no matter how cold it gets, It is always warm inside. © 2016 LasergraphReviews
