A beautiful piece

A beautiful piece

A Poem by Chebem Ike

Here is a beautiful piece
I sight I'd seen, a man standing
Head bowed, tears flowing
Falling
Heart lending

A man that sinned

He broke the law of God
He trespassed the laws of men
He sought not his good in sin

But what beauty, what grace
Equals a man, sinful though he may be
But with a heart penitent repentant
And ready to reconcile

To feel the awe of God's forgiving grace
To dance in the light of his mercy
Is no mean feat
He is the best man that found his way back

I shall place him framed in courts of kings
Governors and queens
I shall exalt him as the true conqueror
A man valourlous in tear and fierce in humility

Who is above he that has conquered self and sin?
