Selfishness

Selfishness

A Poem by Chebem Ike

Thou speaks more of thyself
And prefer to be deaf
To others who thou think do not matter
To shine while overshadowing another
Thou want to increase
And wills others to decrease
High thou wants to sail
And others thou wishes them to fail
Thou wills to rise
And others thou despise

As thy second nature thou has aloofness
And from thee comes know goodness

Tis the case in the high quarters
And fast becoming the day other
Not knowing that success
Without a successor is no success

The world is a stage thou did forget
And everybody has to play a part
For a tree cannot make a forest
Nor can a thread make a cloth

brother, this is didactically wonderful. I think the second line of the third stanza should end this way: ..."day order"... or u used a poetic licence there?
