The wake of terror

The wake of terror

A Poem by Chebem Ike

Deserted homestead
Like in the days of war
Besieged by woes
Destruction and cataclysm
Are now commonplace
Leaving on its trail
Disgruntled and disenchanted survivors
With suffering chiselled faces
Cursing away at fate and government-
Those rabble- rousers!
As with sighs they reminisce the chirpy days
And their once starry sky
Which were but yesterday
Yet now so remote.

One thing some folks are yet to learn is that violence retards development. Keep it up.

this poem calls to mind the Islamic sect-"BOKO HARAM" and the trails of doom they have left behind.
