The wake of terrorA Poem by Chebem Ike
Deserted homestead
Like in the days of war Besieged by woes Destruction and cataclysm Are now commonplace Leaving on its trail Disgruntled and disenchanted survivors With suffering chiselled faces Cursing away at fate and government- Those rabble- rousers! As with sighs they reminisce the chirpy days And their once starry sky Which were but yesterday Yet now so remote. © 2016 Chebem Ike |
