I'm staring out the window

Wrapped in sheets

A deep shade of lonely

Interrogating a waning moon

As if she has any answers.

"I'm waning too!" I cry out...

Pounding my fists 

Wiping my eyes

My tears are the stars

And the moon is silent.

I get the feeling of aging when I read this. Perhaps, with the line being wrapped in sheets, I find some sense of yearning for intimacy, yearning for days long ago when one had deep camaraderie, and felt desired by so many. The feeling of the moon waning, along with the narrator, craving that sense of warmth, finding the moon has no answer. I almost want to use this as a starting point to a random stream-of-conscious short story.

I'm glad I picked up on it! I enjoyed reading it. I can relate to that feeling of yearning for some certain sense of bygone days. I enjoy reading your works--I see you use a lot of themes about the moon, the ocean shore, and the subtle descriptions of sensuality. I get this image of wistful yearning for something far away, which are feelings I often have.

Yes, the moon is often thought of as the female and the sun as male in various cultures and folklore. Some cultures have the opposite representation.
