When It Comes To Being Alone

When It Comes To Being Alone

A Poem by Kaylee Olson

Pardon me for my lack of better words,

This poem may not rhyme at times

But it certainly describes how everyone

has once felt in their lifetime

It may not be perfection

Hell it may not be even good

But I've got something on my mind

That someone out there might have understood

A constant ache for a heart that beats for their own

A lack of warmth beside their body

Nobody to tell you they love you

Not a hand to hold when you say "I'm sorry"

Tell me, why is it so hard to talk to the ones you enjoy?

The ones who bring you laughter

The ones who can bring you out of the dump

A room so full of people, you're surrounded

But still, you can't find the strength to talk

Now I understand single can have it's bright sides

No arguments, little stress, no expectations, and nobody to see

But being alone is just about killing me

Those movies you see, are silent killers

Why must they make it look so easy?

True love looks so simple,

Even happy

But laying there watching the actors is a lot

Easier than suffering the heartache of reality

It may even be better than what my life could be

Now again I apologize for the words I've just spit out

But someone will share the same feelings, I have no doubt

When it comes to being alone,

Many will say
There's not much you can do, but take it day by day

This is a feeling I know all to well. I love the honesty of the writer in their admittance to the feelings hidden inside the piece. Many notice an abundance and sometimes overwhelming sense of "being alone" when single and often find that all the people around them are happy and probably a feeling of unfairness overcomes. However loving ourselves is a huge deal in those times, because how can we love anyone else if we can't love ourselves?

Broken.

Yes take day by day , I guess this Christmas was very dear to me but I truly miss that love that light a balance in my heart like the Christmas lights do. This was the 1st Christmas I allowed a love to come in but it was the Fathers love that got me threw. Even though I wrote a poem in a memory of one time ago in tears of a pouring heart , It felt like my own rain storm. It felt worse than a sin. I cant go back I know its over, Its not like a lifetime moment where things end in loving arms and cascade dreams. Day by day is all I have and my words, Without The Father and my words I am lost, Without the true of ones I call friends I am no more but a slumber in the wind . I wish to carry through in a linger of breeze settle upon the dues as if all were a disease, Theses are my feelings not of a master mind , just a pouring from a heart some may understand. I love your write ty:)

This poem's message holds so incredibly true! Movies make the concept of love look so simple and flawless. How the right people just drop out of the sky one day and sweep a woman off her feet, then they get married and live happily ever after. Sometimes, I feel that it's so much better and such a relief to be single. But then again, one can handle being by themselves, but only for a certain amount of time, never for too long or things begin to slowly drive them up the walls. I also understand how it can be to be in a crowded room, full of glorious people and laughter, yet...you can't bring yourself to talk, be social. What makes us this way? Is it anxiety? Or maybe just the fear of being close to people again, even if we don't personally know them like some others. Crowds can often be overwhelming to some...but yes, being lonely can grow on people. Some are more comfortable being lonely, while others have no choice but to take it day by day and hanging on, hoping something will swing along and change that...beautiful write here! :)
