StrengthA Poem by LanaStrength is not about never giving up It's not about swimming up It's about the flood The water submerges your right lung And you fight for the left one It's about giving up and inhaling the smoke It's about self-destruction and a gentle stroke Of your hair by the hand of the devil And you see it and feel it but you let it It's about letting go and abandoning your soul Your home is flooded and the furniture in it Is all made of wood, soaked and damaged by crystallized, neglected thin pieces Of self-hatred, and it feels like there's no chance at all To regain this little part of your organ, the left lung, the right heart, the centered soul Strength is about the flood And it's a tsunami you take in with all the weakness in your solid blood And after all of it is gone, you build back the city where you were born It's about the construction and the renewal Never think of yourself as your inner friend We all abandon ourselves, and it's the weakness that makes the strength Part of the power of your soul
