I Am But A Cage

I Am But A Cage

A Poem by Lana

I am but a cage,
And the remnants of my ideas flow through,
Only to be trapped by the borders,
By an unknown magnet of cryptic orders.

I am but a cage,
A golden barricade,
And my hopes and dreams slip through its bars,
Only to be caught by the same orders,
By an unknown evil magnet of grand powers.

I am but a cage,
Though the ideas in my head remain,
For I’ve long learned that if they go bare,
They will be swallowed whole by this force
An evil of dark nature.

I am the cage,
With silver barricades, though
I am unsure if it’s true silver
Or merely silicone,
Fabricated by a man-made monster
Of an evil force

Born from a dark nature

I am aware of this cage,
But is knowing enough
To destroy it all with my own hands?
