Intertwined

Intertwined

A Poem by Lana

Every night
We put down our masks
And we lay down
Suddenly we get a rewind
Of what once was
Of what should have been
Of what could be
And it doesn't matter that you are the Prince
You cannot close your eyes
At night
You just get a rewind
And you wonder what could be
If you weren't born into that suit
If you wasn't blessed or cursed with that mask
Never knowing that it is a ritual
We all share
The sun sets for all of us
And the night will rewind
And we will all lay down forever intertwined
