Picture this
A Poem by Lana
Picture this
You are a parent
You have to find the courage within yourself
No half-minded decision in this new age
You go get what you want
Because you are a parent
And a child is waiting for you at home
You comfort them when they're in pain
And you tell them that everything will be okay
You do everything it takes
To make your wildest dreams shine in silver grey
And the rest of your love in rose golden syrup
Your dreams shine so bright they throw up
When you start to doubt you will ever make it out alive in this life
Now picture this
You are a parent
And the child lives within yourself
Its small heartbeat whimpering in pain
Whenever you torture it with blasphemous
"I am only an innocent child" it tells you
Nurture it and let it know you are here for them
That the thunderstorm will end
And you have prepared a trail of petal roses
That leads to a fountain of truth
Of peace that sings a song of bliss
Oh if only you could picture this
