Halfway happy

Halfway happy

A Poem by Lana

I am terrified by the sheer force of my body
And its fragility
Terrified of my voice and its impact to the world
And its insignificance
Terrified to witness my death
And see my body destroyed by the sheer force of the universe
I am terrified to be a particle of dead stars
And the ocean combined with blood
With beauty and decay
Mixed in the DNA's of the world's greatest painters
To be part of the humanity's echo of our dread
And knowing it is all that we share
After all we are all scared
And yet it doesn't make it any clearer
The bravery of living comes with pain
That there is no escape
I should sit there in the rain
And listen to this little voice that cries out
Paint! Paint!
You are halfway there
Halfway to fill your canvas with paint!
I don't know what to f*****g paint
Somehow it doesn't seem to matter
You see
We were only here to be
Perhaps
Halfway happy

Halfway happy sounds frustrating. On the other hand, it's worlds ahead of depressed. Half a loaf is better than hunger.
