I love you

I love you

A Poem by Lana

I am the world
And everything in it
The people I see on TV
They were a part of me
And when I thought that misery
Was only something
A few people could feel
I was always wrong
I am the world
I am the people who fled the war
The ones who begged for mercy
I am the colonizer
And the slavemaster in Kentucky
I am the farmer in Korea
The italian woman who stirs her pasta to keep it from sticking
I was the whole world
And when I was wondering
Who I was
And why I was so alone
I was the whole world
Living in a bubble
And the people I didn't know
Were always a part of me
In my veins, my soul
And even my journey
As genes are just travellers
Of a grand scheme
I am me
You are me
And I love you for it
Whoever you are reading this
I love you
