The devil of daydreams

The devil of daydreams

A Poem by Lana

Daydreaming of us together
Holding hands forever
Only it's just a dream
That you and me
Are not separated by the sea

I daydream because I am lonely
You told me you love me
And I confused the easy breeze
With a volcano bursting the soil
Creating nothing but a tsunami
There was no danger to you loving me
Only me not ever believing
That if you saw the real me
This love would be escaping
Finding the exit door to this daydream

It is only a daydream
Where I embrace you in my arms
And you kiss me
We build a lifetime of love
And everything is easy

An easy daydream
It is what I long to feel
To feel in reality
In the reality of my life
It is much more grim

I have to let go of the idea
Please let me go now
I have to flee
I cannot be heartbroken
By a sweet sweet daydream
It only gets sour now
As time goes by
And I dance with the devil
The devil of daydreams
