A Poem by Lana

Grief is not linear
It doesn't begin then ends
It never ends
It is a feeling you have to befriend

A memory expands
Full of nostalgic air
It transforms into pouring rain
Only to retract again

Grief is not linear
It doesn't live then die
It never stops
It is a feeling you have to take

Fear of forgetting your face
Full of anxiety and pain
It transforms into despair
Only to disappear again

Grief is not linear
It never stops
As long as my heart beats fast
You are there

This is a very touching poem and reminds me of the angst I still have even after 20 years of my father's passing. It still lingers and always will, as it should. We should never forget them, they should always be in our tears and smiles. Thank you for sharing your poem.
