I've sinned

I've sinned

A Poem by Lana

I’ve sinned

I have not looked up to the sky and think

I’m aiming for the stars

So many directions

Each filled with gas emissions

People walking with determination

To get to the stars : their only destination

I’ve spinned

Around like a runaway car

Escaping the thought of stars

Aiming for a memoir

I’ll write on my way to a farm

Sitting on the front porch with a dog

Telling the stories of my woes

And joy

I’ve grinned

Thinking of it

The mere thought of life

Cut up in pieces

My life with some seasoning

A salad of little adventures

All forming a menu

My life is right down at the Avenue

I romanticize it now

So that I don’t feel so blue

About missing my target to the stars

And drowning in a smell so foul

I’ve sinned

But I am free
