A playerA Poem by LanaSometimes it's one of those days where You don't really know where you stand You're thrown into a world of shame And curtains and masks covering up real facts So you don't know how to act You are a seeker of truth in a sea of performances Imitators and clowns wearing a frown seeking romance Because nothing is as the tv screen, the way life proceeds To give you what you need whenever you seek it No, life is a poet who doesn't hear your request for help And you live and you get, it's all you need to forget But the truth lies underneath so you get upset I long for the day we all just face The truth and reflect I am just an observer, I never wanted to be a player I pretend and I play by the rules but once I roll the dice The game is through It isn't a need for escape but the need of freedom that I obsessed Over, I can't help it but I wish someone near could understand it Please don't take it badly I don't criticize your guts I know it is unhealthy As we all live and learn and smoke the residue of our dirty breeze You rush to get to a point only to return to the same s**t But we all play the game together until you get pushed to the limit The race is gone, you carry on and wonder why didn't I just let myself be me?
