Station

Station

A Poem by Lana

I walk to the same train station
Going far away from here
But I never get too far
Before I come back to where I started
I try to flee
But I'm always brought back to the same station
It's where I live now
The sound of the train pounding down the rails
Is the loudest sound of my existence
A noise that says "I'm coming"
But always goes back to where it started
I am walking to the train station everyday
I never see any sun rays
I am in a dark hole dug up  years ago by people I don't know
Each step I take I wonder "what is this for?"
Then I'm back to a made up station
People rush to get on the damn train everyday
It gets crowded, people are packed like sardines
So close to each other, yet never been so distant
And then, as the sun sets they go back to where they started
For what?
