Movies

Movies

A Poem by Lana

You were forced to watch a movie when you were born
It starts off really slow
Then the pace changes
Conflicts arise
You don't like thrillers
You want to get out of the movie but you don't know how
You see an exit door
But you don't know what's in store;
All you're sure about is that you're watching a movie
That comfort leads you to keep going
New conflicts arise
It's a hell of a ride
Characters are one dimensional
You feel lost in the narrative
Nothing seems to make sense
Except maybe, an obvious striking pain;
You get involve in other movies
You distract yourself that way
You ask yourself, why wasn't I born with a comedy movie?
God, I love comedies so much more
Their script is so much better
So much lighter;
Maybe I can rewrite my own
And make it spectacular
