Inside OutA Poem by LapseOfMindWrote this pretty fast, not exactly my best work. Muse only whispered tonight and I had to strain to hear her.
Black trees against the grey sky
No moon for us tonight Artificial illumination Synthetic melodies delight Processed cotton insulates our skin Nights darkness holds us tight Drowning out this cities mumble And yet our spark of life ignites Do you ever wonder Just how far it could ever go If we let it die from the outside And forced this inside Us to grow No time for retrospection At least they tell us so And yet they wonder why we're drowning When they hold back against the flow © 2017 LapseOfMindReviews
