Must I RemainA Poem by LapseOfMindI wrote this, off and on, over the span of a month or so. I can't even really remember that which started it and I gave up writing it as it lost all meaning to me. Maybe you can find some in it...
What will it take, to learn to let go
Promises of white-washed fantasies Fade to nothing as skin grows This imaginary veil, blind sight in disguise Criss-crossed with plastic lenses Tied tight to mine eyes Callouses on stone fingers Crack fast as hands break While the world around me changes And this old mold I forsake Yet when you gave this to me How could I ever resist Still I clutch to something that once was Bleed myself dry for that which I miss Alone in the dark, same seat as before Alone as I was, left wanting something more © 2017 LapseOfMindReviews
