Must I Remain

Must I Remain

A Poem by LapseOfMind
"

I wrote this, off and on, over the span of a month or so. I can't even really remember that which started it and I gave up writing it as it lost all meaning to me. Maybe you can find some in it...

"
What will it take, to learn to let go
Promises of white-washed fantasies
Fade to nothing as skin grows
This imaginary veil, blind sight in disguise
Criss-crossed with plastic lenses
Tied tight to mine eyes
Callouses on stone fingers
Crack fast as hands break
While the world around me changes
And this old mold I forsake
Yet when you gave this to me
How could I ever resist
Still I clutch to something that once was
Bleed myself dry for that which I miss
Alone in the dark, same seat as before
Alone as I was, left wanting something more

A very deep piece, Lapse.

That this piece remained rooted in your mind for a month, just waiting for you to find the right words, tells me that your emotions in the piece are very raw and real.

Whether this is referring to a lost love or relationship or just the remnants of a past, your message and emotions of loss, longing and wanting to be needed really shine forth.

A very nicely written piece. Deep and emotive. Well Done.

Never give up writing! :)
"Alone as I was, left wanting something more"
We're always left with wanting something more. We should just stop for a second and start to appreciate things.

I love the thought and emotions that you have worded in this emotional poem. We find ourselves in such condition, when every thing has gone away from our life particularly some one who is special for us. I can feel the state of mind and your uneasiness in this piece of writing. I love the last lines: "Alone in the dark, same seat as before
Alone as I was, left wanting something more" Thanks for sharing.
