FOREVER MY SHAME

Too many times, you declare and decree

Judgment is passed, my decisions not free

Condescend and descend to my level to speak

Show me my faults, it’s my fault that I’m weak

You don’t mean to demean but it’s all the same

I don’t live in my past but you show me my shame

Forgive, forget not your memories - my chains

I sacrifice in vain in the face of your claims

Well done. I particularly like the internal rhyme [condescend/descend, mean/demean for example] and the alliteration that helps with the flow. Good word choice as well. Nicely done.

*sigh* I have been here before. This reminds me of an relationship that had one time. I was completely in love with this person, but he saw my faults as though he was looking at me through a microscope. You can only take so much scrutinizing before you fall apart. Very emotional, and I think that you are a better writer than you think you are. Look forward to reading more of you!
