Coal MiningA Poem by Levi
Returning your Valentine's Day "coupons" today
Too bad I never got to redeem any Remember Labor Day last year? Remember all of the remembering? Flowers on my bed, sunset at Red Rock Wrapped in my arms You were so happy Wait... You weren't even there I was holding a dummy filled with your organs The song lyrics: "I got your love letters, corrected the grammar and sent them back. It's true, romance is dead. I shot it in the chest, then in the head...Which came first? The music or the misery? -- "Love never looked so cool as when you wrap your car around a tree. Your makeup looks so great next to his teeth." Sums up what I've done to forget you ... What was I thinking? Not possible You were my first chance after my father died Now, my body's scarred where it's supposed to mean the most From taking that beckoning, lying chance You say it's your fault But, who caused that? Not you February is still an open wound Causing you to be owned by your fears And, I'll be at the bottom of the hourglass, time ran out, buried I have the courage you need Buried treasure...nothing personal Don't get me wrong I still love you God couldn't change that, even if he existed Out of the filing cabinet, into the shredder Even then, give me time, I'd still be able to find Your Pieces Don't get me wrong I still love you The stories we shared, created ' Will remain with me Until I too put my head under the water And my life becomes spread out with the lake Give me time, I'd still be able to Find The Pieces
