So true, it hurts

So true, it hurts

A Poem by lapoesieducoeur

Just as the cuts begin to fade,
and the pain begins to leave,
you walk past, and sneer so quietly,
as I look down and frown politely;
and only now as you see the mess you made,
the mess of my life, as I struggle to breathe.

My heart, in chains, feels so constricted,
my blood, however, flows unrestricted;
even now, years later, I hear your words,
so harsh, so cold, so true it hurts.

I’d just started eating
My heart only just began beating,
now, though, at this surprise meeting;
it is sad but true, oh it is so right,
my heart is hurting, it feels so tight;
you make me promise to eat, I say “I might”.

I am an anonymous poet, writing my poetry as a means of dealing with the monsters in my head. Yes I have suffered and still am, but with my writings I might just get better. more..
