A Summer Night

A Summer Night

A Poem by Modern Dilemma

A locust splits his skin and bursts free

Into a brand new existence.

He sits in the tree and sings his song of triumph.

From the porch I wait and listen

Trapped in my skin, my life.

I sit in the rocker and hum an old folk tune.

Modern Dilemma,

I love the sound of insects as I rest peacefully outside... the porch is a place of feng shui. Place to ponder thoughts and dreams and recollections; especially when the porch has origin (history).

Sitting in the rocker humming an old folk tune sounds wonderful especially when accompanied by birthing of life in any respects. Just beautiful...

I admire the subject matter and love the feel of this zenful write. (If this is what getting old feels like, I don't mind ageing).
