Mourning Singer

Mourning Singer

A Poem by Elaine

On this trip I take

I live throughout my days

I fly the way I want

& stumble through a haze

grief engulfs my mind

a melody in my head

slowly I start to sing

in the presence of the dead

underneath the soil

the deceased start to rise

the song I am singing

brigs tears to my eyes

they break through the earth

decaying and rotten

with heavy heats

from being forgotten

together we dance

into the night

entrancing and lovely;

possibly flight

they encircle me; dancing

a full moon above

for so long, too long

they've known no love

This is a deeply moving song.. words played like dancers. The darkness... known in loneliness... somehow comes alive in your piece, dancing in the full moon. Elegant and wondrous.

"they encircle me; dancing

...I love the solemn mood:-)
...and every verse is so smooth:-)
