A Poem by Elaine

I sit  in this classroom

wanting to be home

I scream; throw fits

all I want...to be alone

Sick of drama

the stares of my peers

itching to run

not facing my fears

a figure leans down beside me

all my heart does is pound

the beating spreads to my ears

and I can not hear a sound

the voice speaks softly

taking me by surprise

I dare to look up

meeting kind eyes.
