If I loved you

If I loved you

A Poem by Lady Shade

If I loved you

more than words

what words would I use

to let you know?

How would I fall

into your arms

with nothing to guide me

but a passion I can't define?

How would you feel

when I fell prey to tears

crumbled in your arms

longing for stability?

What will happen

when the world turns against us

your family or mine

the forces we trust?

How will you love me

in ten years from now

will you betray me

because you forgot?

Will this passion

this warmth and dedication

withstand years

betray what some call inevitable?

Can we withstand

judgement and scorn

not become a statistic

are we strong enough?

My answer is

a resounding yes

my love for you

will take on any challenge.

My heart leaps

to hold you beside me

hear your voice so softly

regardless of the emotion it relays.

My body needs you

hungers for your touch

relies on your safety

and delights in the memory of you.

My dreams cannot forget you

encompass you as strong as my arms

hold you tightly and

pray for our future.
