If Love was a VirtueA Poem by Lady ShadeIf love was a virtue How would you define it What values would you instill in it How would you best fulfill it Or give it dimension? If passion were a flavor How would you taste it? Would things you know be in in Like vanilla, cinnamon, or the smell of firewood? How would you know what passion was If physicality left you without it? If lust were a flower Would you inhale it? Chew on it? Put in a vase in your window To awaken to and look at? Capture in a photograph to remember Or just indulge in Love until it wilted Or spread seed to make it grow Eternal in your garden? What do your dreams mean to you? Are they havens from reality? Moments to remember our love? Escapes at night into a world Where the two of us exist Without the stresses of the real world? Do we dance there? Make love there? Find happiness there? Where do your dreams take you? Where do they take us? Do you wake up Remembering Knowing how I feel Knowing what you want Dreaming of the next time Our lips will meet Our bodies will connect Our minds will share? Do you laugh When you remember silly things we’ve done? Smile when you remember the way I’ve looked at You and looked into you and told you I love you? Wanted to dance in the shower or sing out loud Because you know I do and that I love the way you move? What does the future hold for you? For us? For the magick I feel when I look at you? I don’t dare question it; merely enjoy the moments I have with you. I only hope you do the same. I love you, honey. © 2010 Lady Shade |
