No longer guiltyA Poem by Another brick in the wallShe was covered in a white sheet Tears were streaming down her face While she quickly ran down the street And away from what she once called grace
There was a bomb in her head And an bullet in her chest Her husband was dead And so were the rest
She tried to fight the pain Searching for an answer She needed someone to explain Why he died of cancer
Her heart was as cold as stone As she tried to figure out A way to take back the throne And find a new route
She stood there in the pouring rain Wishing he was still alive So he could take away this pain So he could help her survive
She sat there in silence Waiting for the bomb to go off So God could stop the violence But she could still hear him cough
The man that she once loved so much Was now far away She was longing for his touch And for the first time, she sat down to pray
For the first time in her life Another man healed her heart He took away the knife And turned her life into art
Her husband is still in her life, He is up there in the sky, Waiting for his lovely wife To do as him, and tell the world goodbye
For one man to die To save the love of his life For him to be that guy That gave God his wife
This was his everlasting dream She used to be filthy But now she was clean And no longer guilty © 2014 Another brick in the wallReviews |
