Changing Attitudes

Changing Attitudes

A Poem by Raven
"

What happened to a magnificent structure?

"

Faster than the speed of light,

Louder than the crash of drums,

Bigger than the tallest hill,

Grander than the sistine chapel,

Brighter than the shining moon,

What more else can I say?

This place is a paradise for all,

A home to rich and poor,

A place where debates and meetings are conjured,

And politics and everyday life take place,

Where scandal and arguments dominate the scene,

Where the mightiest of folk are torn down,

Where everybody has equal rights,

And a place where blood is shed.

What has become of this grandeur,

This place of once peaceful harmony,

What have we done to this beautiful structure,

Etched into the ground by our ancestors.

Open hours, rapid crowds, heated debates, common curses,

What has become of our government officials,

They used to be of a higher class,

Now they're the lowliest of dogs,

Fighting over a tasty looking law,

Pathetic.
