OphidiophobiaA Poem by KaylaThe fear of snakes...ughh I hate those things!!The slithering, the hissing Send chills up my spine, Like a cold breeze, That causes me to shiver. Everywhere I look, The snakes surround me. They move with earthworm motions, Tongues flailing in the air. I cannot escape, as their long, Slender bodies, crawl up my front. They wrap themselves, Over every inch of me. But I convince myself, That it is just my imagination. There is truly only one serpent in my midst, Though my mind makes me see millions. And so I concentrate elsewhere, Hoping to find that soothing sound. The chirps of birds, the laughter of friends, Soon dissepate these images. And I return to reality. © 2010 KaylaAuthor's Note
