Pretty Soul

Pretty Soul

A Poem by Lana

She felt the mice on her bed were just crawling over her leg, and the holes in her walls seemed like dangerous, foolish flaws. The white carpet had turned grey with footsteps, pacing back and forth under sunsets, Mars, and tales. Sand stuck inside her shoe as she showered, gazing out at a blue ocean view. Then she got in bed, wondering about her career "had she failed?" No one had told her she possessed the luxuries of time and health. Despite the cheese turning blue, it was this very transformation that made it special an ornament to her soul. Her house was filled with love.

"You are among the lucky ones" whispered a thought. "Hold on, pretty soul. Linger in the hope that you can keep these treasures golden, untarnished by life's cruel ways of boiling happiness until it explodes"
