Free Rides

Free Rides

A Poem by Lana

Missed opportunity, so unprecedented,
And the president's public eye has denied
The free rides of a few, by pure design,
Reflections of traditions, distorted in fractions

The holiday routines, hiding the monotony of autonomy,
Or so it thinks

An unsung role of a soul that needs a remarkable break from coal mines,
That rejects anything less than a free ride
This constant voice that decides, unseen,
Which symbolic meeting will set the scene
It is so obscene and so vile,
For the independent path is an unseen presence in disguise,
Redefining what is low profile
