Cease And Desist

Cease And Desist

A Poem by Lana

It is otherwordly
The way I am not allowed to exist
I have to cover up my cease and desist
-letter I wrote last week
I told the world I do not want to meet their demands
That my heart is made of marshmallows but sometimes
A scarecrow comes out of it and it terrifies the whole village
And i'm responsible for this offence
I cannot exist as a black death
I have to cover up my hands
Because sometimes I happen to hold a knife
And it's not a butter knife to smear it all on a f*****g toast
In the morning I ghost
I do not make breakfast
I do not milk the cow for the butter
I let the children suffer
And the scarecrow comes out of the woodwork and it terrifies villagers
I had to hide my cease and desist letter
I wrote it last week during supper
I've had enough of the bullshit demands
That this world thinks I have to follow
Because I am what I am
And what I am will never be enough
I have to be the angel of the Earth
I have to be the mother
The milk t***y cow
The Emperess
The loud but quiet mouth that I will never ever feed
But the other lips that speak of what I can and cannot do
I feed them with all my juice
I've had it
I've had enough
I am no longer yours
World.
