Penalty

Penalty

A Poem by Lana

I was born with a death penalty
I was imprisoned with my thoughts only
and my body reacting to the world around it
the way it wants to be
i have no control over it
I was sentenced to jail but
no idea how many years are in front of me
I can only connect the dots behind me
It is sometimes so scary
To be born with a dealth penalty
but i survive it all
by running away to a field of lillies
and paint a giant heart on my canva with acrylic
and just hope one day i will know why this sadistic
sentence was given to me
it is so cruel to be born with a death penalty
but i survive it all
byt knowing we were all born with it
after all i trust the judge did the right thing
