Shoot, kid

Shoot, kid

A Poem by Lana

Should I take responsibility for my wretched existence
No
I am the result of a thousand cops
Pointing their guns at me
Screaming "FREEZE!"
I wasn't born very combative
But life made me
And when I got arrested for a crime I didn't commit
I couldn't believe it
I was the kindest soul in existence
Yes
I was merely an ingredient you add to a cheap cake mix
I take no responsibility for the baking
I never asked for any of it
I am wretched because of consequences
S**t I had to deal with against my will
And so life asks
When will you bring your gun and shoot?
Shoot, kid
You've got it
Shoot me and make me bleed
I will let you win
If only you give me your name
And I let you reinvent an identity
No border check
This is your world
And you can have everything in it

Wow. Very emotional, and truthful. Some kids weren't given a break in life, they had to turn to violence, the gun was their only friend. Sad truth, and it gets worse everyday.
