BrielleA Poem by Her Laments for IcarusThis is a poem I wrote in the hospital when one of my best friends gave birth to her baby.Oh my dearest tiny earthling, It’s always a wonder what great things you can bring. We have never expected you this soon, in fact, we weren’t expecting you at all. Things have changed, plans have been shifted and it’s all for you little precious gem. Sure he said he did not want you but hey, she did. So here you are little being, no one can stop you from breathing. She lost him but she gained you. We both know that she will always choose you. So grow your weensy heart quickly, and let them hear it beats, yes it beats! Cuz Brielle, in the darkness of the night, you are your own light. © 2013 Her Laments for IcarusFeatured Review
