random thoughts.

"
I left you a note on our bedside table.
I wrote it while you were sleeping so quietly next to me.
I left a piece of paper with writings that contain all of my emotions and folded it neatly.
I wrote your name on it for you to notice.

I looked at you and all I can see is the same image of the woman I am madly in love with.
You have grown a few gray hairs and your hair is now unruly because of the movements you made while you were sleeping.
I took note of how you have grown fine laugh lines which I knew I was responsible for,
because you never fail to tell me I am the reason why you can't stop smiling.

I looked at you with love in my eyes.
I can feel my eyes burning with too much love for you, my heart going with it too.
I raised my hands to trace the soft edges of your face
and I realized that after all these years, my love for you never left even if you fell out of it for quite some time now.

As the sun slowly rises and scatters its rays on the bedroom-
I tried my best to stand up from your bed, pack my bags and leave while you are asleep to avoid unwanted goodbyes.
I looked at your naked body one last time and finally got up and packed everything -
and while I was at the door of your house ready to leave,
I looked around, gave the place we used to build our dreams together a last glance and I felt like I was on an unfamiliar place yet it will always feel like home.

It felt like I was not just leaving you and the house, but I am leaving my heart with you as well.
I can feel my heart leaving my body with every step I take away from you.
I fight the tears that are starting to swell from my eyes.
No, I don't want to cry anymore, I am done with crying.

I don't want to be the one who walks away from love when I found it,
but after a long time with me, you don't feel any love for me at all. It faded like you gave it a magic trick.
It hurts knowing this but I must man up and accept that you can't love me anymore,
not when you found love with someone else.

And that's why I left a note on our bedside table,
I wrote it while you were sleeping so quietly next to me.
I left a piece of paper with writings that contain all of my emotions and folded it neatly.
I wrote how much you broke my heart, how much I love you and how I will finally, let you go.

This is such a powerful piece. Often letting go of someone you care and love about is not easy to do. I know how hard that can be. Hope everything is okay.

The poem expressed the hardest aspect of love to grasp, embracing that you need to let go. It conveys that so well, and it hits home with a lot of points. Thank you for sharing.

Really powerful feeling to this! Enjoyed it a lot. Only one small wonderment... how old is the narrative voice? Only the language has a mature elegance about it that when the phrase 'man up' is used it seems slightly out of place. Just one's opinion but it doesn't detract from the fact this is a lovely piece of writing.

thank you so much. I appreciate it.
That was an admirable story I feel as though if you made another story to add on he could come back and show her his love and make her love him again
