Real definition of Love - according to me.

Real definition of Love - according to me.

A Story by Hiraeth
"

short essay on how I feel about how love should really be.

"
Everybody's trying to find somebody to love
as if love is something that can be bought and thrown away
once it defeats its purpose to make your heart flutter or make you happy for days.

Love for me is always so much more than that.

Love is something that you work hard for to earn and you work double to keep.
Love is wearing your heart on your sleeve and not caring what the world has to say.
Love is waiting for them for hours just to be with them for a few minutes.
Love is jumping in without knowing how deep the water is and you don't even know how to swim.
Love is doing something that's out of your comfort zone just to see the person you love smiling and happy.
Love is knowing that you are two different people that have two different lives and goals to achieve
and knowing that you have to give them space in order for the both of you to grow.
Love is not giving up when the person you love turns out to have a lot of issues and insecurities.
Love is not walking out of the door and leaving when it fails to make you happy all the time,
because love isn't supposed to make you happy.
It's supposed to fill a whole inside of you that you never knew existed before you met them.

And also,
Love is letting the person you love with all of your heart and every inch of your existence go
when they already found love with someone else.

I love this! Love is never easy. Ever hear the term lover's leap? Well, love's not a skip, stroll, run, or a quiet journey. Love shakes every part of you. It catches you before you can have a chance to realize what's going on. It requires trust. It makes your jump. It brightens your world. It brings you peace. It makes you break down all barriers. It makes you want to shout from the rooftops. It's loud and can't be ignored. It takes constant nurturing and it's a two way street. It's the most amazing thing that anyone could experience, but it's also the most heart wrenching. It doesn't make sense, but it crowds every part of who you are. It makes the rainy days seem less gloomy. Love doesn't make sense but we follow it blindly anyways. When it's suddenly ripped away, there are no words. Keep up the good work and your head held high. Love never gives up and will always find a way to make you whole even if it's not with the person you originally thought it would be with. In case no one has told you lately, I'm proud of you. This is an exceptional piece. Kudos!

The end of this piece is the hardest part! Letting go of someone has to be done, but when we have built so much around them, it's brutal. Very good piece!

I enjoyed reading this. It had a lot of the different aspects of love such as: love is a sacrifice, love is worth every hour invested in it, love is staying faithful, love is being open and tolerant, and love is letting go. I like how you interconnected them and weaved them into this one story.

thanks for your wonderful input Chris! I appreciate that you like it.
You are right. Love isn't fair. Many reasons for love to die and many reasons to seek love again. I like the honest and direct thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent story and poetry.
